SCHMID Group Strengthens Energy Storage Production: Partnership with Turkish Partner PEKINTAŞ Group to Scale High-Volume Manufacturing

Freudenstadt, December 13, 2024 – The SCHMID Group, a leading company in high-tech solutions for the electronics and energy storage industries, announces a strategic partnership with its long-standing partner, the Turkish PEKINTAŞ Group. The aim of this collaboration is to expand the production of large-scale energy storage systems based on vanadium redox flow technology, thereby efficiently meeting the growing global demand. After intensive negotiations and building on the positive experiences of their previous collaboration, the SCHMID Group has decided to take this strategic step.

Under the agreement, the PEKINTAŞ Group will invest in SCHMID Energy Systems, a division of the SCHMID Group, and allocate significant funds to establish production capacities in Turkey. This partnership will enable the technologically advanced flow battery solutions developed at SES to transition into scalable and cost-efficient production.

The development and technical expertise will remain in Germany, ensuring that the SCHMID Group continues to maintain its innovation and quality assurance locally. The partnership between SCHMID and PEKINTAŞ combines the expertise and experience of both companies, establishing a strong foundation for delivering forward-looking energy storage solutions on a global scale.
